Plate - Letterpress - Great Britain: 1879 tender for the 1d contract: 1d letterpress die engraved on steel, frame D with 'South Australia 4d head', without corner letters, steel cliche built up to type height with lead. Stone: 'One penny dies for punch. These contain head SP 5D; the front jewel is rudimentary, the line above the second jewel is broken and has one short line below it. There is an oval of very thick ruling' (See 2011.330). Perkins Bacon.
