Lot 142 THE RARE KEYHOLE "PAID/KINGSTON/JAMAICA" D.S. (PD4) IN BLACK ; 3rd Sept. 1839 E from "Guy's Hill" to London with a fine though overinked "PEARTREE GROVE/JAMAICA" c.d.s. (P2b; "very rare" & earlier than recorded) on the reverse. On the front is a mostly very fine strike of PD4 in BLACK. (Foster only records one example in this unusual colour; this example & only one other have been recorded since.) Very attractive. PHOTO
