Lot 18 SUPERB STRIKES OF THE "IAMAICA" MARK (J2); c.1764 wrapper & May 1773 EL ("p. the Duncannon Packet") to Edinr./London (charged "3N" & "1N"), each with a remarkably clear strike of the "IAMAICA" mark (first crossed by tear & latter crossed by fold, but both very attractive). The Fitzherbert papers demonstrated that one will find 100 unclear strikes for each one as clear as these. (2 covers). PHOTO
