Lot 186 KINGSTON & MANDEVILLE - UNDERPAID INTERNAL 8D-RATE COVER; July 1859 long E (the bottom flap removed and with some toning, etc.) from Mandeville (fair c.d.s. on the front) to the "Inspector of Prisons, Kingston", endorsed "O.H.M.S. pd 4d", with four G.B. 1d Red "stars" (some faults) tied by the Type 01 Kingston "A01" numeral on arrival. The distance was 58 miles, so the 4d per oz rate applied, but this letter was clearly over an ounce and so there is a manuscript "4/4/8d" charge on the
