Lot 248 THE 6D DULL LILAC - THE RARE MANUSCRIPT "X" CANCEL OF SAVANNAH LA MAR ON COVER TO G.B.; 23rd Jan. 1862 E to Liverpool with a 6d dull lilac tied by the "A01" of Kingston (24th Jan. c.d.s. on reverse) but also with a black ink "X" matching the manuscript "23" in the "SAVANNA-LA-MAR/JAMAICA" c.d.s. on the reverse. The "A75" numeral had been lost, or damaged (& put out of action), some time in June (?) 1861; stamped covers are then very rare from this P.O. until July 1862 when its c.d.s. c
