Lot 250 THE SHORT-LIVED SAVANNAH LA MAR "Paid 6d" MANUSCRIPT PROVISIONAL; 25th Feb. 1862 E (horiz. filing crease barely detracts) to Liverpool (same correspondence as the previous two lots), without any postage stamps but with a bold purple manuscript "Paid 6" on the front, backed up with slightly overstruck Kingston "JAMAICA/PAID" and "LONDON/PAID" c.d.s.'s. Strange things were happening at this P.O. at this time (see the Dec. 1994 BCPJ article which illustrates this cover), and it seems that
