Lot 64 RARE "EXPRESS PAID" LETTER WITH THE BLACK MANUSCRIPT "Little River/P.O." MARKING; 10th Nov. 1831 E to Scotland (same correspondence as the previous lot) with a m/s "Express paid 2/6" on the front (instead of "Inland Paid") with a matching m/s "Little River/P.O." on the reverse (Foster "Very Rare"). The British "p. Packet" charge was "2/4" which indicates a single letter, so it seems that the inland express rate (of which we have seen no other example) was four times the normal rate. Pr
