Lot 745 THE 1926 "OBSERVED TO BE/IN BAD CONDITION/G.P.O. JAMAICA" MARK; 15th Dec. 1926 long commercial env. (some creases and minor toning barely detract) from Chicago to Astley Clerk in Kingston, with a lovely strike of this rare mark nicely placed in purple on the front. Bob's researches have shown that this letter was on board the S.S. "Canadian Navigation" when she caught fire off Bermuda. The only recorded item from this wreck; very rare.
