Lot 768 INDIA - MAIL TO IMMIGRANT WORKERS "NAMED" AFTER THE SHIPS THAT BROUGHT THEM; Unusual trio of 1903-4 India a green QV/KEVII(2) p. stat. envs. with partly printed addresses of the "GOVERNMENT EMIGRATION AGENT FOR JAMAICA" in Calcutta; each addressed to a numbered individual, e.g. "Sukhu, No.420 Ex Avon '95, Hermitage Estate, Jamaica." (This indicated a worker who had arrived from India on the S.S. "Avon" in 1895 !) Fine and unusual. With 2 PPC's of Indian workers. (5 covers).
