 The first issues of Finland, those of 1845, 1850 and 1856 in force until 1859 introduced uniform domestic postal rates. The first issues depicts the Arms of Finland represented with the Lion. The first classic issues have in common: The Design Outline is Oval in its Shape. This is a traditional philately treatment on the classic issues of Finland with the Oval Design. In contrary to other contemporary postage reforms around the world, the postage reform in Finland commenced with the release of Postal Stationery Stamped Envelopes (1845-1856), succeeded with the first postage adhesive stamps with experimental status from 1 March 1856 to 31 December 1859.
