This frame covers special items from pre-production material to
scarce blocks from the first issue in 1865 to rare blocks of the high
values issued during the reign of King George VI. Items of note
include a block of four of the 1874 essay of ‘THREE PENCE’ on
1d rose-red, major flaws on the 1875 ‘ONE PENNY’ overprints
including the 1d with no stop on both the 2d and 1s values and the
inverted example on the 1s. These are followed by the largest block
of nine of the 1s compound perf imperf between. Following the
Victoria items are Essays, an Appendix sheet and colour trials from
the Docks Issue. King George V shows duty plates ex-De la Rue, a
12s.6d Revenue-Revenue plate block and a cover; the King George VI
section shows plate blocks from the first printing and important
blocks from later printings.
