1599 - The South of Scotland






                           During  the  16 111   Century,  when  Scotland  was  a  separate  kingdom,  almost  all  letters
                           originated from the southern half of the country where the royal residences were located
                           and where the merchants and professional classes in the royal burghs plied their trades.
