This issue had a huge print run, with a total of 175 million stamps being ordered by 61 colonies. De La Rue
and Bradbury Wilkinson shared the contract. The stamps went on sale on 2 June 1953, and withdrawn on
31 December 1953.
The sheets comprised ten rows of six stamps. Of the 1,709,400 stamps printed, 1,167,405 were sold. Four
plate combinations were used: 1 & 3, 1a & 3a, 1 & 4 and 1a & 4a.
