Scouting Around the World Czechoslovakia
From 1912 to 1994 there were in
Czechoslovak Scout Federation
about 48 Scout Clubs and Scout
organisations where each one had
another name. These were all Boy
Scouts. In 1918 was established a
Scout club named "Deti svobody"
(Children of Freedom), and in
1919 this unit entered into the club
"Svaz junliku-skauru republiky
Ceskoslovenske" (Czechoslovak
Scout Federation).
On reverse of the postcard is
printed:

,,Deti Svobody"
l'tll~ ffiOHYLS . The postcard drawing was made in
1904, and is by the Czech patriotic
painter Mikolas Ales (18.11.1852
Mirotice - 10.7.1913 Praha) - a
scout prefer painter. Regarding the
title of the card, "Mohyla" is a
"tumulus, mound, grave". The
word is often used in connection
with monuments on battlefields or
grave yards. These cards were
used/sold by the "Children of
Freedom" Scout group.

Postcard sent from "SMICHOV -3 V 19" (in Prague) to a soldier in Slovakia (Field Post 75) from his
family (signed by father, mother, and another female -perhaps sister or girl friend) which had just
visited "the exhibit grounds". The addressee, being a soldier, enjoyed the free postage privilege.
