Scouting Around the World Haiti

Guiding in Haiti started with a group of pupils and fo rmer pupils of a girl s schoo l who established
a c lub offering o ut-of- schoo l act iviti es . One of the girl s, impressed by her brother' s Scouting
activiti es, asked to incorporate these acti vities into the club. Contacts to the re li gious order in
charge and th en WAGGGS eventually led to the establi shment of Guidin g in Haiti in 1942 .
