Obliterators and Single Rings
Loss of Obliterator at Savannah La Mar – 1860-61
Temporary Withdrawal of use of Adhesives
Although shortages of adhesives occurred frequently at several offices, it is believed that at Sav La Mar,
due to the loss of the obliterator, there was a deliberate withdrawal of their use for a short period
(between Nov 1861 and Feb 1862), with reversion to the pre-stamp manuscript endorsements.
Only 3 such items have been recorded to-date.
