      Frame 48 Stationery
Cards Used for ½d Inland Town Rate (1877 to 1878)
The ½d rate applied to cards sent / delivered in the same town from 1877 until 1939.
Jamaica joined the UPU on 1 April 1877 and there was a requirement to provide Postal Stationery cards.
Insufficient time was available to order and obtain cards from De La Rue, therefore local printings were arranged.
5,727 ½d cards of the two provisional types were printed but the split is unknown.
