Railway Letter addressed to London with the pair of Yid vermilion values and
the 2d Railway Letter Stamp of the London, Brighton & South Coast Railway

tied by the oval telegraphic cancel SOUTHW ATER/STATION/L.B & S.C.RY.
The two Yid stamps are further tied by the squared circle cancel LONDON
S.E/36 dated lOth August 1899. The station opened on 1 st July 1861 and closed
to traffic on the ih March 1966

Known periods of use: 10.8.1899 as the only datable example
