ARMY ORDER
No. 19
THE WAR OFFICE 1th February, 1952
Death of His Majesty King George VI
The following telegram was sent to Her Majesty the Queen on
6th February, 1952 :-
Mr. Antony Head, with his humble duty, begs leave to offer
on behalf of the Army Council and the Army an expression of
their profound sympathy with your Majesty and the members of
the Royal Family.
We had followed with anxiety the course of the severe illness
of His Late Majesty but the news of his sudden passing came
as a great shock.
The Army will ever remember with gratitude the keen and
-practical interest which His Late Majesty always showed in its
progress.
