Philatelists and friends, my
collecting of stamps started a long
time ago. Thanks to the current
President of the Royal Philatelic
Society London, Mr. Chris King, I
have been invited to the society’s
premises on Thursday 31 October 2013
giving a Standing Display of my
”Classic Sweden” collection.
When I recently aquired one of the
world’s most famous stamps, the

Sweden's first philately is introduced
on the very first frame by defining the
postal history context in Sweden
before introducing the first stamps in
1855.
The collection includes Sweden's
first three stamp issues: The coat‐of‐
arms “Skilling Banco” (1855‐1858) and
”Öre” (1858‐1872) values, the lying
lion type (1862‐1866) and the circle
type (1872‐1891) postage stamps. The
