The Norweg ian Girl G ui de Association he ld their national camp in Manda! in 1937. Thi s was their largest pre-war
camp, with I,750 participants incl uding many fro m abroad. The camp was a great success, and among the memories
were the icecream in Manda I, the Sj0sanden bathing beach (one of the finest in Norway), the strawberries and the
campfires. The field post office w hich operated in the camp used a specia l postmark (N-007) from 8 to 16 July.

Postcard from Linkop ing, Swede n sent to a Swedish G irl Gu ide in the
Manda! camp. Arrived too late, boxed cachet " Avre ist Parti" (Departed)
and manu script " Retur" (return) in blue crayo n and black ink.
