World Scout Jamboree                               1933

                        4th World Scout Jamboree-
                              Godollo - Hungary.

The 4th World Scout Jamboree was hosted by Hungary and held 2- 13 August, 1933.
It was attended by 25,792 Scouts, representing 46 different nations and additi onal territori es.
They encamped around the Roya l Palace in the Royal Forest ofGodo ll6, about I I mil es from
the capital of Budapest.

The unofficia l language was "Jamboreese", which consisted mostly of signs emphas ized by a
happy smil e. Each fore ign contingent was prov ided with a "cousin", a local Scout who could
help them w ith the Hungari an language. Air Scouts participated fo r the fi rst time.

                        The lowest recorded registration number is '3'.

• Spec ial, numbered Jamboree registration labe ls were used. ' Ajanl ott' means registered.
• There is no di scernable order in the number of the labels as compared with the postmark

     date~ and postmark code letters.
• At least fo ur sheets of registration labels were used, with numbers running from I to IOOO .

• Approx imate ly 580 registered items are recorded.
• Lowest recorded registration number is ' 3' .
• Highest recorded registration number is ' IOOO ' .
• Earli est recorded date fo r a registered item is I0 July, on the fi rst day of issue fo r the

     Jamboree stamps (3 weeks prior to the opening of the WJ).
• Latest recorded date for a registered item is 25 August ( 12 days after WJ cl osed).
• Postmark ' d' is the most common postmark on registered ma il, w ith approximately

     200 recorded items. None are recorded for postmark ' g'.
