World Scout Jamboree 1937

Sth World Scout Jamboree - Vogelenzang, Bloemendaal - the Netherlands.

A total of 28,750 Scouts from 54 co untries participated. Three co mmemorative stamps were issued
on I April, 1937. At the closure of the event, eighty years o ld Baden- Powell pointed out the symbol
of thi s j amboree: the Jacob's Staff and took hi s farewe ll : "Now the time has come fo r me to say good-
bye. I want you to lead happy li ves. You know that many of us will never meet again in this world." .
