World Scout Jamboree 1955
The 8th World Scout Jamboree was held in 1955 and was hosted by Canada at N iagara-on-
the-Lake, Ontari o. The Jamboree saw the introduction of the World Membership Badge
whi ch is still worn on the uni form s of Scouts the world over. Thi s was the fi rst World
Jamboree to be held in the Western Hemi sphere ( indeed, the first outside of Europe).
An advertisin g slogan to promote the Jamboree was used
by the London, Ont. council of the Boy Scouts of Canada.
