Jamaica: The Vendryes Provisional
First setting: the HALE variety in position (row) 6.
The HALE variety in position (row) 6 appears sometimes as a protrusion from the base of the F,
sometimes as dot further to the right. Either may appear alone or both together, sometimes joined to
resemble a ragged lower bar to an E.
The variety began in printing column 1 and occurs in most strikes of columns 1, 2 and 3. It is usually
absent from column 4, in column 5 it is a dot alone and it is again absent from column 6.
