3d Design Die Proofs
The 3d was designed three years (in 1863) later than the previous denominations.
Five states of the 3d exist.
1st State 4th State
The first two states are partially uncleared. The 4th state has the leaves extended.
5th State
The final state has dashes above and below the ornaments in the oval.
Ink Recipe
In the 1870s and later De La Rue documented the ink colour mix for each issue and printed dummy stamps.
