Internal Rates Between Kingston and Spanish Town
1d Single Rate ‘Town Delivery’ Mail from 1861 to 1868
The GB PO rate of 4d for all distances up to 60 miles applied was replaced on 22 Mar 1861 by a rate of 1d for delivery within the same town
or 2d for delivery in the same parish, 4d remaining for up to 60 miles.
Post between Spanish Town (the capital and Government seat at this time) and Kingston was classified as the same town.
