DERA GHAZI KHAN DISTRICT

Recorded by Isani in two types on one Service value only a two line handstamp showing the old
currency as a fraction and the new currency in brackets. It is possible that one of the types should
be re-assigned to Naushahro in Nawabsham District.
Type 1. Only the 50 Paisa I 8 Annas is recorded by Isani who records it as used in Dera Ghazi Khan
in June I July 1962 (a particularly late use). Malik & Zaki repeat this information verbatim (but
curiously list it as their Type 2). Subsequently three covers and a piece used in Naushahro in
March, April and September 1961 and two other used examples with indistinct postmarks have
been discovered. Dera Ghazi Kp.an and Naushahro are some 200 kilometers apart and in different
            administrative districts.
Two line handstamp with the old currency shown as "Re. W'. Capital P, the rest in small case
letters. New currency enclosed in brackets. Height of capital letters 4mm, Length of old currency
