RA WALPINDI DISTRICT
A handful of values are found used in Kahuta from August 1961 to about November 1962 and
occasionally even later. Isani speculates that "it is quite possible that when returns of balance
stocks of the old currency stamps were called in, the decision was taken to press into service the
stocks in Kahuta, which could not have been much. Then possibly the seals in Rawalpindi could
have been transferred or use in Kahuta. Or alternatively duplicate seals made for Kahuta but not
utilized previously could have been brought into service. Conversion into new currency
equivalents would considerably simplify the accounting of balance stocks at such a late stage."
