28 Jun 1933 ‑ Shanghai to Froha, Algeria. Sent by sea to Saigon during the first month of the restructured rates. Transit
backstamps of Saigon (5 Jul), Mairseille (16 Jul), Mascara, Algeria (18 Jul) and an arrival backstamp dated 20 Jul. The cover also
has the rare Par Avion Saigon‑Marseille et au delà / de Marseille handstamp applied at Shanghai (McQueen Type 76), indicating that
the letter was intended to be flown beyond Marseilles. The letter weighed between 5g and 10g so needed two weight steps on the
Saigon‑Marseille portion (per 5g) but only one on the onward flight (per 20g). Single rate letter $0.25 + $0.69 x 2 + $0.19 = $1.82.
