Watermarks
Three watermarks were used for Wilding stamps. Apart from some Dollis Hill trial printings, all Wildings are on
watermarked paper. Those from sheets always have an upright watermark as they were printed from rolls. The
change to the Multiple Crowns watermark in 1959 was in deference to Scotland where The Queen was not the
second monarch with that name.

In 1964 48,000 sheets were printed from 3d
Cylinders 70 no dot and 70 dot with a capital
‘T’ on its side in the margins. This paper was
slightly thicker than the normal Crowns supply.
