It was first suggested by Rover [“Kishengarh 1899 – 1999. The Strange Story of the Foundation of a State
Post”, India Post, 2001, Issue 147, pp 5-18] that the same die was used for the 1895 fiscal and 1899 postage
one anna stamps.
He was indeed correct. The only differences lie in the c larity of the 1A blue versus the fuzziness of the 1A
green.
Despite the age of the plate used in 1899, it is clear, from observing the 1899 IA blue above as well, that the
green colour appears to bleed more
In order to study the differences better digital microscopy has been used.
