Koeppel & Manners refer to red brown and rose printings, with some rose issues on laid paper
They also refer to a second die without background shading in a rose printing

These are pinperfed and consist of a strip of three at the left and a pair at the right
A cut to shape red-brown example from am 1896 document showing lack of detail on the horses’ bodies
There is a reduced amount shading in the background, but it is there
A pinperfed red brown example from an 1899 document showing no shading in the horses
and very little background shading. Likely to be the no shading Die II of K&P.
