Marseilles and Suez to Galle, Ceylon. From Galle, Ceylon by Union Steam Ship packet per
steamer Mauritius, arriving 1 August, 1867. Two attempted deliveries and notation made,
"Recipient Gone Away" and returned via Newcastle upon Tyne, 26 September, 1867.
Working on sugar plantations in Mauritius was often on a contracted basis, a two year rotation the individual would return home.
