The principal route to Finland was by ship across the Åland Sea. (If winter conditions interfered the mail could
be sent overland via Haparanda in northern Sweden and Torneå across the boarder in Finland). Finland was the
most common foreign destination from Sweden during the skilling period with 141 recorded covers.
