1855-1858 THE COAT-OF-ARMS TYPE I ”SKILLING BANCO”
It should be noted that all domestic letters and letter packages required postage which was a multiple of
4 Skilling Banco (4 Skilling Banco for each additional unit of 1 lod up to 8 lod).
8 Skilling Banco a. Reddish orange to Orange [July 1855]
Second domestic letter rate 8 Skilling Banco (1¼ lod ≤ 2¼ lod) from STOCKHOLM 6.10.1856 to Wenersborg.
The postage reform stated that one should avoid affixing several stamps on one letter when it weighted more
than one unit, explaining the reason for issuing several different denominations to be used when combining
frankings.
Triple domestic letter rate 8 + 4 = 12 Skilling Banco (2¼ lod ≤ 3¼ lod) from CHRISTIANSTAD 16.6.1856 to
Stockholm. Combined franking 8 Skilling Banco + 4 Skilling Banco (a1).
