The earliest border and vignettes plates had no number in the margin, but are known by philatelists as Plate (1).
Two printings were made using a combination of Border Plate 2 and Vignette Plate 2, on 10 August 1943 and 26 September 1944.
Vignette Plate 3 was put to press 11 times for the 1d
value, always in combination with Border Plate 2.
The only printing using a combination of Border Plate 2 and
Vignette Plate (1) was on 26 September 1939.
