Elizabeth II Definitive Stamps 1956 to 1961
1956 Waterlow Specimens
The ½d, 1½d and 3d values were used by Waterlow & Sons Limited as specimen samples of their work.
These samples can be identified by a hole punched in each stamp.
Blocks of four on issued paper.
Single stamp of each value printed on thin but stiff paper. The paper has pale blue parallel lines printed on the back 8mm apart.
Note that the position of the hole is different for each value, but consistent between the blocks and singles.
