Newton

This was a Railway Office just outside the Colony. It opened on 1 September 1900 Newton
and prevailed until independence. Despite its longevity, examples of postmarks
from this village are unusual, especially the first. This scarcity is demonstrated
by the 16-year gap between the last recorded date of the earlier mark and the
first recorded date of the second, despite the office being open throughout.
