In 1950, Swed ish Scout Association held a large national Boy Scout camp at Tyreso
so uth east of Stockholm. The camp was ca lled Ava-Tyr, derived from "Aventyr",
meanin g "adventure", and its locati on Tyreso. There were many cha ll enges with
organ izing large camps, and the 195 5 and 1959 nat iona l camps took the form of fi ve
to six smaller camps. The special postmark (S-016) was used 2 1 - 31 July, 1950.
