Jamaica: The Vendryes Provisional
The 2½d rate from Jamaica to other Postal Union destinations, January 1891.
To Nova Scotia, 3 January 1891.
The Colonial Office permitted the Governor’s pre-emptive 1890 reduction in the rate to 2½d to apply
not only to the USA but also to Canada. So, by 1 January 1891, mail to Canada had already been at
the 2½d rate for seven months.
