Jamaica Revenues: Impressed Adhesive Revenues, 1899 - 1959.
Bill of Exchange, 1900.
Bill for £300, drawn on
Kingston. On the back,
shown here, are
Jamaica impressed
adhesive revenues
from Group 1:
6d, code EE; and
4s, code F.
These revenues were
always cancelled with
a vermilion seal with
moveable date plugs.
This is the most usual
type, with the Royal
Arms and the code
letter J.
The date of these
cancellations is 18
June 1900, although
the Bill itself is dated
14 August 1900,
suggesting that the Bill
was made up in
advance ready for
sending.
The front of the Bill has
a British 3s Foreign Bill
adhesive, cancelled 31
August 1900.
Ex Sutcliffe.
