Jamaica Defence: The British Army.
British or Empire army units were stationed in Jamaica from its conquest in 1655 until independence
in 1962. Units began to use identifying handstamps on covers from about 1900.
The 2 Battalion Royal Sussex Regiment were in Jamaica from November 1919 to September 1921.
