Jamaica Defence: World War II Civil Censorship.

The first civil censorship, from 1 September 1939, used an Opened by Censor adhesive label. The
labels were locally printed on shades of blue paper in sheets, rouletted. They were so small that more
than one had to be used for each cover. They were in use in Jamaica only between 1 and 7
September before being replaced. The labels were then used in the Cayman Islands.
