DINAJPUR DISTRICT
THAKURGAON
Based on fairly thin evidence, a two line handstamp with the top line showing the old currency in
capitals and the second line in bracketed small letters other than a capital P, is assigned by
Doubleday and later Isani to Thakurgaon. The discovery piece is a cover dated 30 January 1964
(3 years after issue). Another pittce dated 7 April 1962 is from Feni, Noakhali District at the
opposite end of the country. The third item cited by Isani is undated and from Backergunj District
(nearer Feni than Thakurgaon). Of the pieces shown, the only identifiable postmark is another
from Thakurgaon.
