UMARKOT
Unrecorded Type.
A handstamp struck in violet ink on three values of Service stamps has been recorded used on
eleven registered commercial covers and a front from Umarkot between 14 March and 29 August
1961. Although similar in appearance to the Jamesbad and Mansehra handstamps the Umarkot
type is significantly smaller and, in the case of the latter the Umarkot handstainp has Annas in the
plural rather than the singular. A two line handstamp with all letters in capital. The new
currency on the second line is enclosed in brackets. Height of letters, 2 mm, length of Paisa, 6112
mm.
