envelope with the charred remains of the letter was the

mimeographed advice slip DAMAGED IN GRANTHAM
RAILWAY ACCIDENT. The human toll in this disaster was
14 killed and 17 injured. The locomotive, an Ivatt "Atlantic"

numbered 276 was salvaged and continued in service as
No.3276 until 1916
