The Returned Postal Packet "Ambulance" envelope used to
convey the charred remains of the letter to the addressee in
Redcar. Mail from this disaster was forwarded to a number of
head post offices for onward transmission. This one was sent to
Newcastle for processing, being sent to Redcar on the 20th
September 1906
