From 1 October 1961 to 16 May 1965 the minimum inland printed matter rate was 2½d for the first 2 oz.
There was only one printed matter rate for inland mail: the printed ‘Reduced Rate’ notation was only relevant
for overseas mail.
12 May 1964 - Empire postcard from Greenwich to Victoria, Canada
The overseas postcard rate was split between ‘foreign’ and ‘empire’. From 1 October 1957 to 16 May 1965
the cost of sending a postcard by surface mail to Canada was 2½d.
