                                                                            Last day of Danish stamps in the Duchies
































              ~ 26th March  1864, Entire letter sent to Als datestamped with Ant Ill HADERSLEV with
                transit datestamp KI0BENHA VN from 30th March. Marked France 6 (Skilling prepaid).

               Due to Prussian and Austrian troop movements between Haderslev and S0nderborg the letter had
                                                   to be re-routed.

          Castwlrth Blan/ .... zu Rtndsburg prepaid with  1863 4 Skilling, cancelled with three ring numeral 66, and
         sidestamped with eds Ant Ill SCHLESWIG. On reverse rare eds Ant Ill RENDSBURG and very rare
         Lap adapted railway mark SL.JB.P.SP.B being the earliest recorded use, and sent on the last day that
                                   Danish stamps were permitted for use in Slesvig.
